# The Steadfast update

*v1.9 · October 2026*

No gate shuts in silence. What is yours holds fast.

- **[Every gate speaks](#every-gate-speaks):** A full world, a server mid-update, an old page: each says why.
- **[A new version is out](#a-new-version-is-out):** A screen that won’t load after an update says so at once. One tap reloads.
- **[Links that ran out](#links-that-ran-out):** A friend’s link past its two days says so. Ask them for a new one.
- **[Keep your worlds](#keep-your-worlds):** An iPhone guest gets one quiet card: sign in to keep your worlds safe.
- **[Friends only](#friends-only):** Only friends can ask to come to you with a Farglass, or be asked.

- **WebGL isn't available:** A browser without WebGL says how to turn it on.

**Also new:**

- While a wallet pays, the checkout holds, and Back never leaves it mid-payment.
- A world waits for a payment in flight before it reloads.
- A full Kinhold, a full listed world and the Gleamlands’ full line each get their card, with a way into your own world.
- Single player saves as the tab closes, too.
- When a save fails, one short line says why and what to do.
- A world made while the browser’s storage was out never replaces your first.
- Sign in to an account with its own character and that one plays. You are told the guest stays on this device.
- A guest’s character that can’t move to your account on sign-in says so.
- Accept on a friend request or a teleport always answers.
- On iPhone, the Home Screen card never covers Looks or another window.
- On Android, a first tap that opens a window keeps it open.
- Looks waits for the looks you own before calling one missing.
- The line into the Gleamlands no longer stalls on seats held for players reconnecting.
- Busy servers run smoother: far creatures step slower, and worlds save in turns.
- Security fixes.

## Patches

### Version 1.9.4

- **Shields:** Raise a shield to block. Time it to parry. Bash to break a guard.
- **Drop some:** A new On death choice: the bag drops, your hotbar and armour stay.
- **The Brinefold:** One Block rises out of the sea before the Gleamheart.

- The Blazing axe fells the trees touching the one it fells.
- Worn Gloomseer Lenses see twice as far.
- A Thrumcore fills half a worn Thrumpack’s tank, in the air too.
- A Sunapple leaves you Sated. Sated heals faster while you are well fed.
- Rivet speaks your next First steps step.
- Any log and any fieldstone in recipes that take any.
- Kneel low on a Mistray’s back.
- Photo mode saves and copies on a computer.
- Folk trade the moment the prompt says Trade.
- The title track plays clean.
- A passkey a work or school phone refuses no longer looks like a failed sign-in.
- Small fixes.

### Version 1.9.3

- **Your shared links:** A link to Gleamheart now shows its own card wherever you share it.

- Small fixes.

### Version 1.9.2

- **The Amber Plains:** New land past the horizon: the Amber Plains, reeds, and trees you haven’t seen.
- **Fireswells:** Fireswells breathe lava in the new land. Their ash runs far.
- **The Coilvault:** A Firstfolk maze in the Wastes. Wake its four marks before they go dark.
- **Risings:** The Shardborn and Isembard’s Shadow rise in cinematics of their own.
- **Watch again:** Every cinematic you have seen, in the Journal’s Story tab.
- **Friendly folk:** Warm the Waned back at a Homefire. Found a Waystead and trade there.
- **Bring in a build:** Bring a build in from a .schem, .litematic or .vox file. Swap any block.
- **Your world, online:** Bring a world you made on your own online, with its own code.
- **The Bane Ward:** A ward that bites: it wounds the hunters that come near.
- **A home beyond four:** Set the rarest ore in a Homefire: a home beyond your four.
- **Quickloam:** Pale Ash worked into dirt. A handful grows a crop or a sapling at once.
- **Rivet at your side:** Turn him on in Settings, and Rivet flies at your shoulder.
- **Your pictures:** Pictures you save and world files now carry the Gleamheart name.
- **Everything comes with you:** Your earned looks, emotes, titles and private worlds come with you.

- The Crowned Wyrm breaks from its shell, and the Kept are told when you take them up.
- /god in your own worlds: nothing but the void can hurt you.
- /locate fireswell and /locate coilvault give the way.
- The Builder’s Lens pastes upside down, and keeps your copy if you drop out.
- Your browser is asked to keep your worlds, so it never clears them by itself.

### Version 1.9.1

- **Gleamheart:** The game has a new name. Your worlds, looks and name are as you left them.

## Every gate speaks

When a world can’t take you, the title menu says why in one card, and what to do next. **The Gleamlands are full** (their line too): places open as players leave. **This world is full**, for a Kinhold or a listed world: seats open as players leave. **Our server is busy**: worlds wake as others sleep. **The server is updating**: a page newer than the game server is asked to try again in a minute, never sent round a Reload into the same page. These cards carry one tap into a world of your own. A page older than the server gets **Update ready**, with Reload.

## A new version is out

A tab left open across an update can find that a screen (Looks, the Journal, Settings) no longer loads: its files were replaced. When the page already knows a new version is out, the first window says so, **A new version is out: reload the page**, with **Reload page**. Your worlds and everything in them are kept.

## Links that ran out

A friend’s invite link to the Gleamlands lasts two days. Past that you still join, and the chat says **That invite link has run out. Ask for a new one.**, instead of leaving you at the world spawn with no word.

## Keep your worlds

Safari on an iPhone may clear a site’s storage, worlds with it, when the game isn’t on the Home Screen, and a guest has no copy on an account. So from the third visit on, an iPhone guest with a Kinhold sees one card on the title menu: **Sign in to keep your worlds safe on this iPhone.** Its ✕ closes it for good, and signing in ends it too. It never shows beside the Home Screen card or over a window.

## Friends only

A **Farglass** lists only your friends in the world (signed in, and neither of you blocking the other), and only they can ask to teleport to you. An Accept always gets an answer, even when the one who asked has gone.

## WebGL isn’t available

In a browser with no WebGL (hardware acceleration switched off, or a graphics card the browser won’t use), the game says **WebGL isn’t available** and what to do: turn on hardware acceleration in your browser’s settings, or open the game in another browser.

## Payments that hold

While a wallet pays, the checkout stays open and still, and the phone’s Back never leaves it mid-payment. A world waits for a payment in flight before it reloads.

## Smoother busy servers

Creatures far from every player and home step every other tick, far Hearth Pots and crops are looked at less often, and private worlds save in turns instead of all at once. The line into the Gleamlands no longer stalls on seats held for players reconnecting. Single player saves as the tab closes, too.
